Heather is passionate!

She is passionate about and promotes overall women’s health, is a feminist, is civic minded and she adores her family.

Heather founded Corporate Lactation Services in 1996 with the mission of providing enlightened employers with tools to support their employees in returning to work breastfeeding. Breaking down the barriers that everyday women experience in attempting to meet the needs of their babies, themselves and their employers.

Heather recognizes the unique structures and cultures present within corporations that may be contributing to particularly challenging breastfeeding environments. She advocates for and supports working mothers by striving to minimize these corporate barriers to successful breastfeeding.

Because breastfeeding is a powerful, profound experience and our culture often minimizes the importance of it, Heather works to support organizations that want to help their breastfeeding mothers. Heather’s work is about helping women make choices that are empowering. She advocates that women should not have to choose between being able to provide their babies the best possible nutrition and having fulfilling challenging careers. She believes that with the right support and education, women can successfully integrate a work-life balance.

Heather earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Seattle University and her Master’s degree in Community Health from San Jose State University.

Heather is a proud mother of four: one son and three daughters. Being civic minded she is involved in local government. She is the fourth woman in the history of Chester, VT to be on the Select Board. She serves as the Vice Chairman. She is Chairman of the Board of Civil authority and has served as the community Health Officer. She is a Justice of the Peace and has performed three marriages. Heather is passionate about voting rights and thoroughly enjoys her work in counting votes! She lives in Chester Vermont with her two miniature donkeys, Lulu and Rosco, and a wonderful soft-coated wheaten terrier Henry!
